ZombieDub - what's wrong with special effects? Beats un-special effects. No one expects a movie like this one to be plot-thick. Many great movies had predictible action and plot. Lot's of film critics seemed to like it - as well as millions of fans who watched it in premier. When your plot rich movie premiers, let us know.
if you are impressed by computer graphics, nothing, I've just been watching computer graphics nearly all my life and they just don't impress me in anyway anymore - seen it all before 100 times. It didn't have to be plot thick but considering it was about 3 hours long (well felt it) it could have had some plot in it? You could squeeze the actual plot into, what 4 minutes? And to say because I haven't got a hollywood film out means I can't have an opinion is a strawman argument :)

I watched it at the cinema in 3d and fell asleep about 3 times as it was so boring and utterly lacking any kind of story, apart from basically being a rip off of pocahontas, i can't believe that people in 2010 are still impressed by computer special effects. I'd take a film with a story any day over a plotless, predictable, computer generated film

Facebook (computer) question
by Mad Sweeney inif one sends a message via facebook that might also include a picture, is it possible for the receiver to trace where the message came from?
obviously, they know it came from facebook username soandso, but do they have any way to know (perhaps via some tags on the image) where the message really came from (ip address, location, etc.
)?.
-

No it isn't traceable (unless facebook themselves wanted to trace it, even then it would only be an ip address maybe, if they log them for messages, which could only locate you within say 50 miles or so)

yes.. have we made stupid guesses about some of the prophecies, as all churches do?.
yes.. does our "organization" make mistakes- as, you guessed it, all do?.

bit late to the party... from the OP:
It's called being human. If one leaves a faith because of a bad example- there'd BE no faith on Earth!
sounds great to me!

Jehovah's Witnesses not a protestant religion? (from The Watchtower 2009)
by Joliette injehovahs witnesses do not consider themselves to be a protestant religion.
protestantism arose in 16th-century europe in an effort to reform the roman catholic church.
the word protestant was first applied to the followers of martin luther at the diet of speyer in 1529. since then, the term has generally come to describe all those who adhere to the tenets and goals of the reformation.

They take seriously the Bible’s counsel: “A servant of the Lord is not to engage in quarrels, but has to be kind to everyone, a good teacher, and patient. He has to be gentle when he corrects people who dispute what he says.”
lolz!

The fascinating mind of ANSELM (the man who proved God exists)
by Terry inthat one thing, of course, exists through itself, and so it is greater than all the other things.
so that than which nothing greater can be thought exists in the understanding.
but if it exists in the understanding, it must also exist in reality.

this makes no sense to me, why does it have to exist in every world because it exists in one? thats like saying if i sit in one chair i sit in every possible chair"
In this context, "maximally great" means a being which has maximal excellence in every possible world. It would then exist in every possible world, according to the one making the definitions and playing these particular word games. You're right that it makes no sense, which is a good indication that the initial assumption(s) is deeply flawed.
that's a tautology though, if you rewrite that with that definition of maximal excellence it says:
"3. If a being exists in every possible world, then it exists in every possible world."
Also I'm assuming 'every world' is along the lines of M theory, if so I still don't get why something that exists in one facet of a multiverse has to exist in all.
Makes no sense to me, seems deeply illogical.

Why The "Truth" Isnt For Me
by Pig inhere are some reasons to tell the jw's at the doors why it's just not for you.
stephen king once said "the biggest sin in writing is to bore the reader".
if that's true then the biggest sinners are the watchtower corp. reading is so boring anyway (most the time) and if you wanna be a jw you have to read read read.
